The BendPak MDS-6EXT Extended Open-Center Mid-Rise Scissor Lift is built for vehicles with longer wheelbases and wider lift point spreads, including many modern electric vehicles. With extended lifting points and a 6,000-lb. capacity, the MDS-6EXT helps technicians reach farther toward the edges of the vehicle underbody while keeping the open-center service access that makes the MDS-6 family so useful.

This extended-platform mid-rise lift is designed for shops that need more reach than a standard mid-rise platform can provide. It gives technicians a safer, more confident way to position longer vehicles for brake work, wheel service, inspections, detailing, and underbody maintenance without jumping all the way to a full-rise lift.

Extended Ramps for Lower Vehicles and Larger Tires

The MDS-6EXT uses extended approach ramps that help low-stance vehicles and vehicles with larger tires roll onto the platforms more easily. The longer ramp profile creates a smoother entry path, helping reduce the awkward loading feel that shorter, steeper approaches can create.

The ramps can be clipped on when needed and removed when better service access is required. That flexibility lets shops set up the lift around the work, whether the priority is easy loading, better wheel-well access, or a cleaner service area around the vehicle.

Pneumatic Kicker and Four-Cylinder Hydraulic Lift

A pneumatic kicker assists the MDS-6EXT through the first 6 inches of lift, helping overcome the mechanical disadvantage that scissor lifts face at low collapsed heights. Once the platforms are moving, four hydraulic cylinders take over to raise the vehicle to about 45 inches quickly and efficiently.

A built-in flow divider helps ensure equal pressure to each hydraulic hose, supporting an even rise and descent. The combination of pneumatic assistance, hydraulic power, and extended platforms makes the MDS-6EXT especially useful for longer vehicles that demand careful setup.

Automatic Locks and Serviceable Wear Points

Solid-steel safety lock bars engage automatically and continuously during ascent, transferring working load onto mechanical locks when secured. This helps reduce reliance on hydraulic pressure while technicians work beneath or around the raised vehicle.

Stainless-steel pneumatic cylinders release the locks during descent with the push of a button, while Zerk grease fittings at hinge points help protect critical wear areas. Four durable cushioned-rubber contact blocks are included for fast vehicle setup at the proper lifting points.
