MDS-6LP Mid-Rise Scissor Lift Built Around Open-Center Access

The BendPak MDS-6LP Open-Center Mid-Rise Scissor Lift gives shops a 6,000-lb. lifting solution that reaches more OEM lift points while preserving access through the middle of the vehicle. Its longer platforms and extended lift point spread are designed to help service more vehicle types, including longer wheelbase applications that can be difficult to position on smaller mid-rise lifts.

This open-center design is especially useful for wheel, brake, suspension, detailing, and underbody service where technicians need real access without dedicating an entire bay to a full-rise lift. The MDS-6LP is built for shops that want mid-rise convenience with stronger structure, safer positioning, and more working versatility than a basic low-rise platform.

Removable Ramps and Kicker Assist for Easier Setup

The MDS-6LP uses removable approach ramps that attach directly to the lift platforms, making it easier to drive on, elevate the vehicle, and then clear the ramps for better wheel-well access. The slotted receivers allow the ramps to drop into place and remove quickly when the job calls for more room.

A pivoting kicker mechanism helps the lift rise from its collapsed position, providing extra assistance through the first inches of movement where scissor lifts face the greatest mechanical disadvantage. That added boost helps the MDS-6LP raise low-clearance vehicles more confidently from a low starting height.

Four-Cylinder Hydraulic Power with Level Platform Control

The MDS-6LP is powered by four hydraulic cylinders that work together to raise the platforms evenly and efficiently. A proprietary flow divider helps keep hydraulic pressure balanced between the platforms, supporting a level lift from the first movement through full rise.

Each platform includes four solid steel scissor-frame support bars, giving the lift a rugged foundation for demanding shop use. Hinge points with Zerk grease fittings help maintain critical wear areas, supporting smoother operation and longer service life with routine lubrication.

Automatic Safety Locks and Push-Button Release

Solid-steel safety lock bars engage automatically as the lift rises, allowing technicians to work from multiple locking positions while taking pressure off the hydraulic system during service. Three lock positions help operators choose the working height that best fits the job and reduces fatigue.

Stainless-steel pneumatic cylinders release the safety locks during descent with a push-button system operated away from the lift. The system requires a minimum 50 psi, 10 CFM air source at installation and eliminates the need to fight cumbersome release bars or handles.
